Entertaining Inspirations

There seems to be so much interest in the cardboard lifts and levels, which I posted earlier, so I thought there might be some interest in one particular way of using them.   For the original post, click here.◄

This was the first dessert table that resulted from the cardboard creations!   Although this was done in silver and sparkle, it could be covered in any color or style.  The rounds were first covered with silver wrapping papers.  I used plain silver with a texture, shiny silver, and also another paper with silver polka dots on silver.

Wrap the paper around the sides and secure it with glue.  Then, fold the wrapping paper in on one end and press down, a little at a time.  Repeat on the opposite end.  When that is finished, apply glue under the paper and press down, securing the paper on both ends.

Then, a flat piece of cardboard is cut into a disc the same size as the rolled cardboard round.  The flat disc is covered with the same wrapping paper.  That is then glued over the folded paper on the top.

I found the rhinestone band in the wedding section at the fabric store.  It was a David Tutera product.  (We are an Amazon affiliate and may receive a small percentage of any sales through this link at no cost to you.  Thanks for supporting this website!)

It’s not necessary to cover them!  Use these cardboard lifts and levels under tablecloths and pieces of fabric.  If you decide to try this, I would love to see and hear about your results!

One person who pinned this idea pinned it for an idea for her craft tables!  I hadn’t even thought of using them for displays of crafts!   What an inexpensive item to use for that very purpose!  You are in control of how big around and how tall the lifts could be.  Depending on the crafts, they could be used just as they are for a rustic look or covered with fabric of any style, or even painted!

Imagine using them wrapped in burlap with lace wrapped around them.  The possibilities are endless.
