Adding Crown Molding to the Master Bath/Dressing Area

February 24, 2015

This last week I installed more crown molding in the master bath/dressing area.  What a difference that makes!  It actually makes the wall around the closet and the ledge look higher, even though it is the same height.

Since there was nothing to nail the top part of the crown into, I cut 2″x 2″ boards into wedges that fit down behind the crown, secured them to the wall and nailed into them.  It made the crown a lot more solid.

The ledge over the walk-in closet is also visible in the master bedroom, so I wrapped the crown all the way around.  With the vaulted ceilings, I have decided to only put the crown on the walls that are horizontal, not on the slopes.

It came to my attention not long ago that silk greenery is not in style now.  I have to agree that it is a dust catcher.  I believe this was the last of the fake greenery to go.

Not completely happy with the composition of the knick-knacks, but I will be working on that.

Paint will be the next step.  Anxious to get those white doors painted!
