Jenn, I bought the papier-mache pumpkins at Joann’s. Unfortunately, all of their stores have closed. You might be able to find these at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Hope you find them for your project. Thanks for visiting.

Thanks, James. We have a compost pile over the hill in the back, but I’ve been considering a tumbler. I recently saw where you can use shredded paper to add to the tumbler. That seems like a good way to recycle all that junk mail.

One of the biggest time-savers I’ve found is switching to a raised bed setup — instead of fighting your native soil every season, you’re working with a clean slate of good mix that just performs. A good raised garden bed kit for the backyard takes away the building headache too, which is a shortcut in itself. I’d also add succession planting to your list — staggering sow dates by two weeks means you’re always harvesting something instead of a glut all at once. Thanks for the compost tip too, I’ve started using a tumbler and it really does speed things up dramatically.
