Need to know how to compose a beautiful Easter mantel display? Maybe this post will trigger your imagination!
Remember the Easter rag wreath I made a couple of weeks ago? Well, that wreath is the central element of the mantel display. It is flanked on either side by the Easter egg topiaries in the last post. These three elements make up the foundation of the mantel display.
Easter Pennant Banner

Last month, my kids and their families bought a new Cricut Explore Air 2 for my birthday. I have one of the original Cricuts and since it only uses the cartridges, it is limiting. The design space is cloud-based, so you can design on your computer or mobile device! You can access your files anywhere.
My family totally shocked me with their gift. Dave was shocked, too. I’m so appreciative. This one is amazing and you will be seeing more of the creative things you can make with this little machine in future posts. (I made a country pig banner strung on twine for Danielle’s birthday party last month.)
You can see the entire banner above which I made in no time! I used a blue printed paper, picking up the blue of the wreath, for the background pennant. On top of that, another print with a pale pink background and pink flowers sets off a pink bunny or letters.
These papers are from the BoBunny Early Bird Collection paper pad and The Recollections Blossom and Bloom paper pad. (Can’t find the Recollections paper used for the bunny on Amazon.)
Notice that a 1/8″ pink satin ribbon is strung through the holes of the pennants and tied to the mantel.
Adding Bunnies To The Easter Mantel Display
I love these bunnies. Hobby Lobby has these in their store again. They seem the perfect addition to this display. You can see another understated bunny mantel display with these bunnies from a couple of years ago, click here ►bunny mantel.
Choosing The Birds For The Easter Mantel Display
The thought to use these silver-winged birds was quickly changed after placing them on the mantel. They just don’t look right, do they? They are a little more sophisticated and not so organic. Dang. I tried two other sets of birds I have and one is too big. One set is the wrong color. You know what that means. A shopping trip is necessary.
So, I was off to find the perfect birds. Michael’s had some but they weren’t right. Pier 1 had some yellow and bright blue birds that just weren’t right either. Homegoods didn’t have any. I ended up at Hobby Lobby. Tucked behind a 40% off sign, I caught a glimpse of these little birds and snatched them!
The birds have brown on the wing and tail feathers, which pick up the soft brown antiquing on the bunnies and the grapevine. I like the greyed-down white of the birds, too. They’re a nice addition without being too flashy.
After adding the birds to each side, it seems something is needed between the bunnies. Hmm…
The Perfect Bowl To Complete The Easter Mantel
Pondering what to place there, I consider a little twig nest where I can place those leftover eggs from the topiaries. Then, the little blue and pink Asian bowl catches my eye. Some Spanish moss at the bottom of the bowl makes a perfect place to set the leftover eggs.
At first, I placed the blue and pink bowl in the center under the wreath. Then, it seems to place it to the left of the ribbon ties is a better option. I love it! What do you think? Ready to start planning your Easter mantel, too?
