These Halloween food labels, or place card holders must be one of the simplest crafts you can make. You still have time before Halloween. These look amazing with our other silver skeleton decor!

- Skeleton Tongs
- 2-1/2 inch tall Terra cotta clay pots
- Dry Floral foam
- Black Krylon Spray Paint
- Metallic Silver Krylon Spray Paint
- Hacksaw
- Low melt Glue gun and Glue sticks
- Spanish Moss
Directions:
Prepare the Skeleton Tongs
First, cut the skeleton tongs at the joint. I tried cutting these with some clippers and it wasn’t happening. I handed them over to Dave. He said he’d use a hacksaw and finished it in a few minutes. I’m pretty sure I could have used a hacksaw, but I didn’t think of it.
After you have the skeleton arms shortened, spray paint them with silver metallic paint. Do this outside and protect your grass with cardboard.
The inspiration for these came from a pin on Pinterest. The inspiration piece featured gold paint. You can personalize your food label holder to whatever color you wish.
Paint the Clay Pots
Spray multiple thin coats of spray paint onto the clay pots, allowing the paint to dry between coats.
Trim the Foam, Fit in the Clay Pots, and Add Spanish Moss
Use a knife to cut the florist foam to size and shave it to the shape of the clay pots. Cut a little off at a time. You want the foam to fit snugly in the pot.
Next, push the arm down through the center of the foam. It should rest on the center bottom of the clay pot. Since the arm end is a little larger, the hole in the foam will be a little larger at the top.
Use the low-melt glue to secure the bone in place.
Then, cover the florist foam with Spanish moss. Squeeze a little bit of low-melt glue underneath the moss to hold it in place.
Print Food Labels
Create your food labels on your favorite online editing site and print them. These are printed on some decorative paper in my stash.
Feel free to download and print the two labels I’ve made.
