How to Create Flamingo Centerpieces with Oui Yogurt Jars

Here’s another idea for using Oui Yogurt jars: I plan to create flamingo-themed centerpieces for my granddaughter’s luau birthday party.  I saw a cute flower arrangement in a pink flamingo inflatable.  This is my attempt to recreate it.

Position the Yogurt Jar in the Flamingo Float

So, I ordered some inflatable drink holder flamingo floats from Amazon.  They arrived yesterday.  After inflating one, I caught sight of an empty Oui Yogurt jar.

It occurred to me that if it fit inside the beverage cavity, it would be perfect as a vase.  Well, it fits perfectly, probably better than a glass or beverage can.  Since the bottom of the jar is slightly larger than the top, it sits securely in the recess.

Position Frogs or Decorative Lids on the Yogurt Jars

You can pour water into the jar and arrange and set your flowers in the jar.  However, if you want a little height, you’ll probably want to use a floral frog or decorative metal flower grid lid.   Dollar Tree has decorative metal flower grid lids, or you can find them here ►at Amazon.

The metal flower grid doesn’t screw onto the Oui jar and doesn’t fit snugly.  It’s a little loose and is still. probably secure enough for flowers.  However, you can squeeze a few dots of hot glue onto the rim of the jar and set the metal grid in the glue.

I used an old floral frog to create this arrangement.  The frog is 2-3/4 inches in diameter.  It fits in the bottom of a Oui jar perfectly.

Add Flowers

The flowers used for this arrangement are just a bouquet from the grocery store.  Use fresh flowers from your garden or pick up some at your local florist or grocery store.  Try to choose colors that mimic your flamingo party theme.

You may be better at floral arranging than I am.  (I’m not the best.)  Even if you’re not, it’s easy to make a stunning flamingo centerpiece with these simple pieces.  I think my granddaughter will love these!
