Entertaining Inspirations
Entertaining inspirations are all around us if you are attentive! The table setup below caught my attention when I first saw it! This simple idea has been in my catalog of ideas for future events for some time. Maybe you have an upcoming event. This display would be stunning at your event, too.
A few years ago, I attended a wedding reception. Early in the day, I had to stop by the venue. As the event planner and staff were setting up the areas for the reception buffet, I realized they were using three round tables placed together like a three-leafed clover. Another table top round was centered on top of those three, overlapping each of those slightly, creating a perfect spot for a grand centerpiece.
Have you ever seen this before? As you can see in the picture below, the display was quite lovely and convenient for all of the guests as well. I just remember thinking, ‘brilliant’! What a great way to place the tables, versus the more mundane, long row of rectangular buffet tables, which causes a line of hungry people.
Also, if you can see, under the black serving tray are glass blocks! It raised the height of the tray, which would not have been quite so impressive set flat on the table. The glass blocks also visually multiplied the little tea candles sitting on the table. You can see the yellow of the flame in them! This same concept could be used with square tables. That would be really interesting as well.
This just shows that an inspiration for your events and entertaining, is all around, wherever you go! I am always alert and searching for any creative ideas at restaurants, on television, and while shopping at stores.
Sometimes, I might miss part of a show because I have focused on what is in the background or how something is displayed. Is anyone else guilty of this? Fortunately, today we can rewind and stop the show if necessary! I love those features!
The idea for this very display has been in my catalog of ideas for future events for some time. As you can see in the second picture, the display was quite lovely and convenient for all of the guests as well.
You can see that the center can show off a magnificent display of a floral centerpiece, but a display of artfully arranged decorative items would also be stunning. Just imagine at a country wedding, maybe some old suitcases and vintage items arranged artfully could be displayed. There are just so many possibilities!
