Don’t you love to decorate a fireplace mantel for Halloween? Oh, my goodness! I do love Halloween! This year, the silver-painted bedazzled skulls I made last year are definitely going to be front and center.

First, hang the black twig wreath on the wall. This wreath has purple lights that can be set with a timer. Here’s a similar wreath on Amazon.
Next, wire the silver skull to the wreath. You can find out how to create and decorate with this glammed-up Dollar Tree skull by clicking on the links below.

Triangular Composition
A triangle keeps your eye moving inside the composition instead of leading the eye outside. Multiple triangles in a composition can add a sense of visual unity. It ensures that you will have a successful composition.
Place two pumpkins on the fireplace mantel creating a visual triangle. Then, add crows on top of the pumpkins and next to the pumpkins. Note that the crows on the pumpkins enforce the triangular shape of the composition.
As I was unpacking the Halloween decorations, the bead garlands lay on top. So, I went ahead and draped them across the mantel, too. Don’t you love the off-center drape? It’s easy to drape these over clear Command hooks.

Spooky Victorian Skeleton Pictures
Several weeks ago, I came across these Victorian skeleton pictures at Cyndi’s Garden Center. at 3399 Lawrenceburg, North Bend, Ohio. If you live in Southeastern Indiana, Northern Kentucky, or Southwestern Ohio, you should check out this garden center. Don’t expect to find duplicates of what you find at the big box stores. They have so many one-of-a-kinds here, from handmade seasonal items, wreaths, etc., to freshly potted plants for your porch. You’ll love it! And nobody on your block will have the same exact thing!
Anyway, when I saw the pictures, I had to have them! Aren’t they perfect?
Crystal candleholders with black candles add a little class.
At first, my plan was to use silver pumpkins. After placing a few on the mantel, it just seemed to need more fall colors. I removed them and began placing the colorful orange and green pumpkins and gourds.
Then, the wreath seemed to need a crow on top, too. The banner I made last year drapes over another Command hook on the opposite side.
