Stylish skull Halloween Decor – You’ve seen a lot of skull displays in apothecary jars or large clear vases. Here’s a twist!
Use a wooden and glass lantern instead to create this stylish skull Halloween decor.
First, choose a wood and glass lantern that complements your home’s aesthetic—rustic, modern, or vintage. The box should have a glass front or an open design to showcase the skull prominently.
Next, select a skull that fits the theme and is proportionate to your box. You can opt for a classic white skull for a traditional look or go for something more unique, like a metallic or even a crystal skull. Place the skull inside the lantern, positioning it at a height and an angle that draws the eye.

- Wood and Glass Lantern
- Skull
- 2 Skeleton hands
- Creepy cloth
- Dried mushrooms and grasses
- Plastic spiders
To enhance your display, add some additional elements around the skull. Use moss, faux spider webs, or small LED lights to create a spooky ambiance. You might also incorporate other Halloween-themed items, such as miniature pumpkins, bats, or ravens, to add layers of interest and depth to your display.
Directions:
First, make sure your glass is clean. A chamois helps avoid streaking.
Since the skull needed to be elevated a little, I racked my brain trying to think how to do just that. Initially, I had thought I’d use some floral foam. Then, I spotted this brass candle holder.
It wasn’t necessary to spear the skull with the sharp center spike. The skull balanced on the candle holder easily. The hands balanced on the sides of the skull relatively easily, too.
The bag of dried mushrooms, grasses, and wood slices was in the same bin as the skull. I pulled out the dried mushrooms because of their interesting texture. The grasses added a little more interest.
A few black plastic spiders are small but add interest, too. There aren’t that many elements in this skull Halloween decoration, but it does make a statement!
Lastly, I added some LED fairy lights.
Add a touch of eerie elegance to your Halloween decor. Happy decorating!
