This stylish spring mantel began with the wooden bead wreath made just this past week. Don’t you love it? First, I shop from home. Then, after picking up a few things from a shopping trip, it all comes together.

White Bunnies On The Spring Mantel
So, I pull the white bunnies out of a storage bin and place those on the mantel. I love these bunnies. They’re simple and lovely. Hobby Lobby has some of these bunnies again this year!
Add Texture To The Mantel
To add a little pattern, depth, and texture, and to set off the rabbits, two green arches placed behind them do the trick. I picked these up at Michael’s thinking that they would be a nice contrast to the smooth white of the bunny rabbits. The arches are a part of their English Garden collection.
Two Lanterns And Two Birds
The muddy green of the arches called to mind the lanterns that were part of the window display last fall and Christmas. Set on the outside of each of the arches, I think they look nice.
This reminded me of two ceramic birds in a similar gray color. Both usually sit atop our dresser in the master bedroom. Placed next to the bunnies, they help support the triangular shape.
Creating a Balanced Fireplace Mantel Display
You can create a symmetrical or balanced composition. Symmetrical compositions are achieved when objects are equally distanced from the central point or a centrally placed object. Everything is evenly spaced and balanced on both sides. What you place on one side, you mirror on the other. The rabbits in this display are slightly different but visually are the same weight and balance each other.
Creating triangular shapes within a composition is an easy way to make pleasing displays. You can see that the rabbits on the mantel and the wreath on the wall visually create a triangle. Notice the way the elements are placed to form more visual triangles in the picture below. Using triangles makes it easy to create pleasing compositions.
A Few Elements To Finish The Stylish Spring Mantel Display
At this point, I am pretty happy with the display but feel like it needs a little something on each end and a little something underneath the wreath between the two birds. I make a quick trip to Hobby Lobby. Thinking there would be something in the spring decorations, a walk up and down each aisle left me empty-handed.
Then, on the other end of the store next to the candles, the little terra cotta pots with the succulents catch my eye. Off-white drips add interest to the pots, don’t they? The pots repeat some of the orange colors in the flowers on the wreath and, another bonus, these will never have to be watered either! Lol!
Lastly, the little home sign catches my eye. This is the perfect little element for the empty space! I love the cut design.
Finishing Touches For The Stylish Spring Mantel Display
As I step back and look at the mantel display, it just seems the wreath needs to be raised slightly. This is an easy fix. The twine hanger is just tied to shorten. Then, the excess is gone with a snip of the scissors. Now, notice the space between the wreath and the home sign. It is such a minor adjustment, but look at the difference!
