#10 – If You Love The Rose From Your Bouquet, Propagate It!

It still amazes me to think that you can actually propagate a rose plant from cut roses!  When I first discovered this, I was intrigued and started putting my cut roses in some of the Oui yogurt jars I have collected and set them on the kitchen window sill.  You can see the results.  Click on the picture for more!

#8 – Sad Cake – Moist, Chewy, and Delicious!

This is one of those desserts I have been making for most of my life!  It is an easy bar cake to make for friends and family.  It’s perfect for taking to potluck dinners and anytime you need to take a dessert.

Who even ever heard of Holy Cow Cake?  When we went to south-central Kentucky for Jon-Michael and Emily’s wedding at The Barn At Cedar Grove, the caterer offered this cake.  I took note and when we returned, I had to find out what it is and come up with a recipe.  Click the picture for the recipe.

# 4 – Seasoned Oyster Crackers – 5 Unique Flavors You’re Sure To Love

Taking cheap oyster crackers, adding a few ingredients you probably already have in your pantry to them, and baking them is an easy way to create a variety of seasoned crackers.   I made all of these at the same time and let the family try them.  Everyone had a couple of their own favorites.  It is hard to choose!

This post giving step-by-step directions for making an industrial pipe lamp is the first that Jon-Michael and I worked on together.  How cool is this?  I love the vintage-look light bulb we used.  The red knob turns the light off and on, too.

#1 – The Secret To Perfect Buttercream Frosting!

The number one post this year is how to make perfect buttercream frosting!  You probably have all the ingredients in your pantry.  It’s not a secret ingredient.  The secret is the process and it is so easy to do.  The end results in fluffy buttercream without that overpowering thick sweet frosting.  You’ll love it, too!  I pipe this on all the mini cupcakes I make.  Everyone comments on how light and good it is.  Click through for the secret!
