Don’t you just love blue and white chinoiserie? I have been drawn to these beautiful ceramics for quite some time. As I was planning and making the pinecone flowers, I envisioned a beautiful blue and white mantel display. Keeping that in mind, the paint colors reflect the pretty chinoiserie ceramics.

Blue And White Pinecone Wreath And Ceramic Vases
The blue and white pinecone wreath is obviously the first thing to go up on the wall above the mantel.
Next, add two matching vases on either side of the wreath. They don’t have to be identical, but as I have said before, I have an affinity for symmetry. It is easiest to create with matching items.
Home Sign
As I considered placing a blue and white bowl under the wreath, I remember the “It’s so good to be home” sign that I found last year at the craft store. After retrieving it and placing it under the wreath, it seems perfect! Note that the jute hanger for the wreath had to be shortened slightly. That is an easy fix!
Next, two more blue and white ceramics are placed on each side of the taller vases. The little blue and white birds seem to be the perfect ends for the display. At this point, doesn’t it seem something is missing between the two blue and white ceramics on each side?
Clear Blue Vases
Next, I remember some clear blue vases that are in a bin downstairs. There are a lot of bins downstairs with decorative items. Fortunately, I began replacing the opaque bins with clear containers. Placing a list of what each bin contains, inside, facing outward, makes it easier to find! It didn’t take too long to find the blue vases.
Red-Orange Poppies
On top of the wrapped items in the bin, these bright red-orange poppies beg to be a part of the display. I am unable to resist using them. What a cheerful pop of color these silk flowers add!
