Easily create a fun mood for a fishing-themed party with these ideas!  Although these ideas are from our fishing-themed baby shower, these decorations would be perfect for any fishing-themed party!

As a base for our food display, we used a burlap runner.  I found the fish net that lays over top of the runner at the Dollar Tree.  You can find a larger fish net ◄ here on Amazon.

Fishing Themed Baby Shower Part 3 Decorations

I found the bright blue lantern at Hobby Lobby.   Isn’t it cute?  It flickers like a flame.  These are solar-powered LED Lights!  You can find a similar lantern ◄ here on Amazon, and it’s RED, too!

The Lake Punch Beverage Dispenser

The recipe for the Lake Punch is included in the last post on Fishing Themed Party Foods.  The pretty punch complete with floating bobbers makes quite a statement.  So, I am including it as a part of the decorations, too.  It is definitely an eye-catcher!  Be sure to order some old-fashioned bobbers to float on the punch!

Fish Napkins

Napkins

These napkins are part of a collection that Joann Fabrics had earlier this summer.  Knowing that fishing was going to be our theme, I was on the lookout for all the fishing decorations.  Michael’s, Joann’s, and Hobby Lobby all had items perfect for a fishing party.

Although Michael’s and Joann’s have these items seasonally, Hobby Lobby has the metal signs and decorative wall art items year-round.  You can find a similar package of napkins ◄here on Amazon.

Gone Fishin’ Kitchen Towel

Fishin’ Kitchen Towel

The original plan for this little Gone Fishin’ towel was to have it draped over the side of a basket.  You have to go with the flow when the weather isn’t cooperating.  So, I decided to display it on the oven door handle.  Everyone ends up hanging out in the kitchen, right?

Fishing Bobber Garland

Michaels had these fishing bobber garlands earlier.  When I picked this up, it was half-priced.  Wouldn’t this be easy to recreate?  Even though they sold out of them already, using Styrofoam balls and jute twine, you could easily make a garland like this.

Behind the bobber garland hangs a red, white, and blue rag garland.

Hobby Lobby had red and white bobbers dangling from some jute twine.  That gave me the idea to fasten a few of the plastic bobbers on some jute twine and hang them from each end.

Balloons for a Fishing-Themed Party

The weather was not cooperating with me on the day of the party.  Rain came down all morning.  My original intention was to serve food on the patio table with the big red umbrella open.  Envisioning red and white balloons attached to the top of the rails on the deck, the display would have been eye-catching.

You might think baby blue for a baby boy would be more appropriate, but the red balloons caught my eye.  Adding a few smaller white balloons, puts you in mind of red and white bobbers, right?  I found this 102-piece balloon arch set on Amazon, too.  From what you get, I think this is quite a deal.

Instead of my vision, Sophie and Chrissy created a balloon arch on the rails of the catwalk, cascading down to a puddle on the floor in the family room.  Not exactly my vision for the deck, but it still looks pretty good.

Baby Quilt for Crawlers

Although this is not really a decoration, it could be displayed at your shower.  I wanted to share this because if you know an expectant mom, this baby quilt is one of the best gifts!  It will be so handy when that baby is learning to crawl.

The first one of these I made was out of necessity for my first grandson.  We just didn’t have the perfect blanket to lay on the carpet for his exercise.  The receiving blankets weren’t big enough.  Many of the quilts had high loft batting, which his face sank into when he laid down on his belly.  There is a need for a flat blanket with more body, something that would not wrinkle up when he is moving around.

That is when the idea for this quilt was hatched.  You can find complete step-by-step instructions ◄ here.  Make one to coordinate with your theme!

Thank You Cards for a Fishing-Themed Party

Thank You Cards

After the shower and everyone has enjoyed your decorations, you are sure to need some Thank you cards to coordinate with your theme.  Remember the little envelopes we made for the drawing with the We R Memory Keepers punch board?  I created Thank you note cards on PicMonkey with the same fishing theme.  Feel free to use the Thank You’s for your personal use.  Just print them out on cardstock.  Then, use your X-Acto knife and a metal ruler or your paper cutter to cut out the card.
